OIL-FILLED CABLES
Fujikura is manufacturing and installing oil-filled cable since 1934, many Extra-High-Voltage installations being on turn-key basis

In 1934 Fujikura Ltd supplied the first 55 kV self-contained oil-filled cables. Ever since that time Fujikura has maintained a continuous program in design and in manufacturing techniques.

As the cables were developed, Fujikura made coincident developments in installation techniques. This has resulted in Fujikura being awarded turn key projects in Japan and abroad at voltages up to 380 and 550 kV.

Product Summary

• By 1976 Fujikura was supplying and installing 500 kV oil-filled cable for the domestic market.
• By 1984 about 3300 km of oil-filled cable had been manufactured by Fujikura Ltd. This is equal to the distance from London to Cairo in Egypt.
